Position Summary The Client Ambassador is responsible for monitoring the shelter facility, clients, and guests to provide a safe, orderly, respectful, and peaceful environment. Essential Functions The Client Ambassador is a customer-service oriented position at The Salvation Army Bell Shelter, a residential housing and services facility for single adults experiencing homelessness. The duties include ensuring all clients understand and comply with facility rules, explaining rules as necessary, maintaining written records, monitoring and assisting with the cleanliness of the facility, answering incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate individuals in a timely and professional manner, greeting and directing visitors, providing basic information about the facility and programs, preparing written reports for all incidents using logs and incident report forms, maintaining a safe environment inside and outside of the facility, performing thorough rounds throughout each assigned shift, monitoring client medication, observing activity through reception office video monitors, investigating and reporting activity and incidents, and supervising client social activities while performing all duties in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner. Pay Rate $21.60-$26.00 Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Minimum Qualifications High School Graduate with 1 year work experience. If in recovery, must have a sobriety minimum of two (2) years. Experience in mental health and/or addictions fields preferred. Understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army. Basic literacy skills. CPR and First Aid certification a must by 14 days of start date. TB-cleared prior to start date. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Ability to exercise sound judgment in carrying out assignments independently. Good time management skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong sense of workplace ethics and understanding of confidentiality protocols. Ability to answer telephone, greet visitors, and interact with clients and other staff members in a courteous, professional, respectful manner.
