Medical Technologist - Chemistry/Hematology, Full-time, Night Shift

Responsibilities Follow clinical laboratory testing procedures and policies in the performance of routine and specialized tests. Identify source and nature of test problems and make appropriate recommendations. Apply the scientific method in problem solving and assist in the evaluation of new methods and techniques. Ensure that quality control criteria are met and adhere to established laboratory policies in handling hazardous substances. Record necessary documentation to comply with various agency and hospital regulations. Perform required instrument maintenance at the prescribed time and log appropriately. Conduct minor troubleshooting on instrumentation. Instruct and train rotating residents, students, physicians, and new laboratory staff in testing procedures as needed. Maintain a clean work area and perform technical clean‑up at the end of each shift. Assist in maintaining sufficient supplies at each workstation. Participate in the development and evaluation of new procedures and protocols. Perform job functions with customer service focus and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to patients, families, coworkers, and others. Complete competency testing and mandatory and continuing education requirements as defined by the position. Perform other job functions as assigned, such as developing, coordinating, assessing, and documenting competency testing. Shift Shift Time: 11:00pm – 7:30am Education / Experience Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in chemical or biological sciences, or an associate’s degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology (60 semester hours) including at least 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or equivalent science coursework. Or qualified as a technologist under relevant regulatory provisions for high‑complexity testing. Meet all regulatory requirements for moderate or high complexity testing as appropriate within assigned area. Must be detail‑oriented and able to multi‑task.
