Position: Telemetry Engineer (Job ID: 4512) Location: Huntsville, ALRemote Status: On-Site Job Id: 4512 # of Openings: 1 Telemetry Engineer Contingent upon prime contractor approvalPurpose:Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Telemetry Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Engineering DirectorateIn this role, you will provide critical engineering expertise to the team responsible for performing pre-mission trajectory validation and performance analysis for the for the flight test events along with onsite expertise during flight eventsJob Description:Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) program office with development of ballistic missile target vehiclesAid TC System Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test to include requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis and reportingUse knowledge, skills and experience with missile characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product developmentTechnical focus areas include vehicle telemetry and mission analysisConfigure and operate telemetry data acquisition equipment during test eventsPerform vehicle telemetry data decommutation, reduction, conversions, etc.Generate target vehicle visualizations, situational awareness displays, and reports/briefingsBe a part of mission planning, analysis, and reporting activitiesCollaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering toolsUse knowledge, skills and experience with missile characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product developmentQualifications:Must have a Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experienceMust be proficient with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and other programming languagesMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Desired Qualifications:Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processesExperience supporting MDA and/or DoD test eventsExperience with telemetry systems and data processingExperience in any or all of the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical SignaturesStrong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasksAbility to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnelSecurity Requirements:Active Secret security clearance, which requires US CitizenshipTravel Requirements:Minimal Travel; 15% or lessIf position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
