Job Description Purpose and Scope The Analyst I, School Partnerships and Academic Success will beresponsible for performing Division budgetary, economic,institutional, and financial analysis and reporting functions.Additionally, will be responsible for all aspects of Divisionbudgeting including budget preparation, formulation, presentation,execution, and financial management policy. Essential Job Functions Monitor expenditures and budgets for the division of SchoolPartnerships and Academic Success; Assist with the resolution ofposition management, budget issues that may occur; Reviewpersonnel/payroll forms as assigned Monitor queries to ensure system processes are running,dispatching, validating, and updating; Provide timely and accurateinformation for payment Work collaboratively with all departments and serve as point ofcontact for the Executive Director and the Director for SchoolPartnerships and Academic Success; Provide training, instruction,and ongoing support to different department positions, asneeded Monitor and process purchases; work closely with AccountsPayable to resolve issues with invoices Create and analyze reports; Complete cost analyses, expenseprojections, trend reports, and ad hoc reports to provide toleadership and administrators at local ISDs as needed Ensure that reporting procedures and approvals are attained andcommunicated for travel, and that LSC expense reporting policiesand procedures are followed Provide guidance and information to end users with regards tothe querying, reporting, and maintenance of HCM information;Maintain department changes within iStar Manage and provide recommendations for the development ofSchool Partnerships and Academic Success annual operational andcapital budgets; Provide proactive and ongoing oversight of SchoolPartnerships and Academic Success budget, including providingleadership for annual budget development process Assist and teach Requesters at the campus in the division ofSchool Partnerships and Academic Success with requisition entry, POclosing, release of encumbrances and pre-encumbrances Utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Python, R,and SQL) to perform advanced data analysis and createvisualizations Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to analyze data and interpret detailed information andconvert to knowledge-based reports and recommendations from largevolumes of data Broad knowledge of general accounting principles, practices,and procedures Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communicationskills Attention to detail and the ability to successfully managemultiple tasks with overlapping time-frames while still meetingdeadlines Strong initiative and analytical skills Ability to utilize automated financial systems, specificallyHyperion Financial Planning and PeopleSoft FSCM Strong working knowledge of PCs and related software, with afocus on Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work. Work Schedule and Conditions Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications Experience in computer programming, query languages, andvisualization platforms Experience with reporting or querying tools Experience using automation to improve workflow accuracy andefficiency Salary Hiring salary range is $48,152 - $55,375. Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation.
