Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) located in Cudahy, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for medical-surgical patients with a focus on telemetry monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of shift. The position requires at least one year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience and the ability to work night shifts with a schedule cycle of six weeks.

Job Details:

• Position: Telemetry RN
• Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin
• Schedule: Nights (1900-0730), with shifts lasting 12 hours and a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license with BLS certification; ACLS preferred; at least 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience; experience with patients such as post-operative ortho, urology, and general medical conditions; EMR experience with EPIC preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification
• Patient Population and Responsibilities: Care for geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-op ortho, urology, general surgery, and medical conditions such as CHF, COPD, and respiratory or kidney issues. Skills include chest tube management, wound care, central line and port blood draws, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and assisting with ambulation and patient's ADLs.
• Support and Equipment: Support from charge RN, phlebotomy, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and OT/PT/ST services. Familiarity with EMR (EPIC), infusion pumps, and monitors.
• Float: Ability to float and take patient assignments on other Med Surg units or anywhere in the hospital, including ER and ICU.
• Orientation: One 12-hour shift on the unit to learn workflow.
• Additional notes: Scrub attire must be solid, professional colors without logos or designs. Free employee parking is available. The unit maintains a positive and engaged culture with good teamwork, especially on night shifts.
• Other: Every other weekend rotation, low census on-call up to 36 hours, holiday coverage at 50%, schedule planned six weeks in advance with RTO approval through management.
