We are currently seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, tech-savvy paralegal to join our dynamic team.Reporting to the Managing Member, the paralegal will assist with all aspects of litigation byworking directly with GLG attorneys to actively participate in discovery management and organization, to prepare cases for trial, arbitration, or mediation, and to participate in trials or arbitrations, as well as to develop, organize, and maintain case files. This is a hybrid role, and flexibility for unscheduled in-person attendance is needed. Hallmarks of our proactive approach to litigation are professionalism, customer service, and efficiency. The successful candidate will have at least 2 – 4 years of substantive paralegal experience working in a law firm on sophisticated commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have: ABA-approved paralegal certification with a focus on litigation, or a combination of education and experience 2 – 4 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm setting Stellar communication and interpersonal skills, as the job requires direct interface with clients, as well as with third parties Experience cite-checking legal briefs (trial and appellate) Experience managing, creating, serving, and reviewing medium to large-scale document productions Proficiency with document review software (Relativity, Disco, Everlaw, Reveal, etc.) Working knowledge and competency with case management software (iManage, Clio, Caret, Smokeball, etc.) Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software In-person experience supporting attorneys in legal proceedings, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Experience coordinating support with external vendors, including electronic discovery vendors, court reporting agencies, process servers, etc. An understanding of the complete litigation process from case initiation through discovery, trial, and appeal Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and their use in a litigation setting Paralegal job responsibilities include: Coordinating the collection, review, and production of documents and responding to discovery requests Creating and maintaining case file databases Organizing, categorizing, and managing documents, including the creation of spreadsheets and retrieval systems Assisting with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings Acting as liaison among all parties, including court or other neutrals, for scheduling and sharing information Assisting with trial preparation, including the identification and assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filing Summarizing deposition and trial transcripts and exhibits Investigating case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside sources Compiling information and preparing statistics, charts, graphs, and other summaries to detail fact findings Attending and participating in team meetings Proofreading and citation checking of motions, memoranda, briefs, and other documents Drafting routine motions, discovery, notices, and subpoenas Personal attributes include: Self-reflection, with a growth mindset, a strong commitment to professional and self-development, and a willingness to take ownership of projects Professionalism, with an understanding of the appropriate formality for client interactions and court proceedings Commitment to community involvement and social responsibility Discreet listening skills and an understanding of the trust involved in confidential conversations Inquisitive, intellectually curious, attention to detail, and a proactive “doer” Strategic and independent thinker, as well as a great collaborator Flexibility, with the ability to rapidly pivot from task to task and matter to matter A strong desire to win, with an ability to understand what a win means to each client Willingness to go “above and beyond” in support of client service #J-18808-Ljbffr Goodman Law Group | Chicago
