Location: Avera St Anthony's Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays (United States of America) Pay Range: $37.25 - $56.25 per hour, actual pay rate dependent upon experience. Overview Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services, implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of physical therapy and established objectives of the department. Responsibilities Evaluate assigned patients, gathering data from patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients. Review plan of care with patient, instruct patient, family, caregivers in home program or exercise as appropriate. Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals; establish and modify intervention strategies based on ongoing evaluation. Provide direct therapy services to patients in various functional settings and strategies, planning therapy within the patient’s individual physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities. Prepare documentation as required by profession and department: evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports. Communicate effectively with patient, family, physician, and other disciplinary team members regarding the patient’s status, progress, and needs; attend care conferences when applicable. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members throughout the patient’s intervention program. Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, workshops, etc. Oversee physical therapy assistants, technicians, and students efficiently and effectively, ensuring safe patient care and smooth departmental operation. Maintain knowledge of proper use of equipment for patient care. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential function, including visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and ability to communicate effectively with others, hear and understand speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Licensed physical therapist.
