Restaurant General Manager – Upscale Dining

Location: Outside of San Antonio

Salary: $80K - $95K + Bonus Potential

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant General Manager to lead the operations of an upscale, high-volume dining establishment. This individual will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving operational excellence, team performance, and financial results. The ideal candidate is a polished hospitality professional with a passion for elevated food and beverage, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to create a service culture centered around hospitality.

The General Manager will serve as the face of the restaurant, setting the tone for the guest experience and establishing a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, service standards, staffing, and guest satisfaction.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing management and hourly team through clear expectations, training, and ongoing performance feedback.
• Create and maintain an elevated service culture that consistently exceeds guest expectations.
• Ensure the restaurant's food, beverage, service, cleanliness, and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
• Monitor and manage financial performance, including sales, labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, inventory, and overall profitability.
• Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, improve guest frequency, and maximize average check.
• Review financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and operating metrics to identify opportunities and address challenges.
• Partner closely with the culinary leadership team to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and front-of-house operations.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure team members are consistently trained on service standards, menu knowledge, wine and beverage offerings, and hospitality expectations.
• Build strong relationships with guests and proactively address feedback or service concerns in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and company policies.
• Oversee inventory management, purchasing controls, receiving procedures, and loss prevention.
• Assist with special events, private dining, VIP experiences, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
• Maintain a professional, polished, and energetic presence throughout the restaurant.
• Collaborate with ownership and/or senior leadership on operational initiatives, marketing strategies, and long-term business goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive restaurant management experience , preferably within upscale, fine dining, luxury hotel, or high-end hospitality environments.
• Proven experience leading a high-volume restaurant operation.
• Strong understanding of restaurant P&L management, labor controls, food and beverage costs, and budgeting.
• Exceptional knowledge of upscale service standards and guest relations.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze operating reports and translate results into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional presence with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and contemporary restaurant trends is highly preferred.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
