Position: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist

Shift:


7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

This facility is a fully-accredited healthcare institution focused on the care and improvement of human life. It offers a comprehensive range of services, including 24/7 emergency care and specialized centers for various health needs.


Unit Profile:


Location: Tallahassee, FL


Unit: Respiratory

• Number of Beds: 266
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Unit Staffing Description: Available support including unit secretaries and technicians
• Type of Equipment: Various ventilators and Bipaps
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements:


Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.


Floating Policy:


The role may include rotation throughout all inpatient units.


Patient Experience Requirements:


Utilization of AIDET methodology is expected.


Requested Skill Set:

• Critical Care and Emergency Care experience required
• Experience in ICU, ER, and critical adult care is essential
• Weekend rotations involved
• Familiarity with level 2 NICU and pediatric care is within scope

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP

Advanced Skills Needed:


Proficiency in procedures including aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management.


Dress Code:


Required uniform: Scrubs.


Highlights of the Unit:


The Respiratory Therapy team consists of well-rounded colleagues with a variety of experience levels. Therapists rotate through all floors and two intensive care units (ICUs), allowing for diverse exposure and practice. Staff are equipped to perform advanced procedures such as intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assistance.


The team collaborates closely with nursing and other disciplines during daily rounds, actively contributing to patient care enhancements. The department utilizes advanced equipment, including:

• Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Vapotherm
• Philips V60+
• Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers
