GI Specialty Sales Representative (Pharma) Job Summary The GI Specialty Sales Representative (Pharma) will be responsible for the sales performance of the full portfolio within an assigned geographic territory through successful execution of marketing strategies. This role focuses on building and growing business relationships with key decision makers and influencers. The representative will detail to specific targets, using a defined messaging strategy and call sequence to promote the GI platform and support transition of care and discharge protocols in partnership with hospital personnel. Territory Location Greater Baltimore, Maryland area and surrounding communities including Ellicott City, Towson, Westminster, and Glen Burie, Maryland. THIS ROLE AND TERRITORY ARE NOT LOCATED IN BETHESDA, MD. Responsibilities Focus on driving growth among GI/Critical Care target specialists and new accounts, meeting or exceeding sales and profit objectives. Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of novel GI therapy within the assigned territory. Understand the GI healthcare environment and execute the selling process concisely, compliantly, professionally, and persuasively. Develop and communicate a deep scientific understanding of GI disorders and competitive products. Cultivate and maintain long‑term business relationships with key accounts and key opinion leaders within the GI community. Develop and implement a territory‑specific business plan using all available resources to foster a successful sales environment. Effectively convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a competitive marketplace. Execute a customer‑centric, needs‑based selling approach with targeted healthcare providers. Use sales reporting systems regularly for call preparation, activity tracking, and market intelligence. Organize meetings and deliver content on GI and nutrition to health care professionals, aligned with account objectives and metrics. Conduct promotional programs for professional and patient audiences. Attend local, regional, and national meetings as directed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field. 3+ years of medical/clinical selling experience with demonstrated success in specialty medical products, or high‑school diploma/GED plus 5+ years of combined pharmaceutical or medical sales experience. Fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Consistently meets and exceeds sales targets. Ability to develop solid, long‑standing business relationships with strategic/targeted customers. Solid financial acumen and analytical skills. Travel of 50% or more (required to develop internal and external relationships). Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. Compensation The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. Final compensation may vary based on qualifications and location.
