Reports to: Speech Language Pathologist and Principal Nature of Work: The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant works independently following standardized routines under close supervision. The nature of the work requires adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations. This job requires frequent interaction with students and as such requires a high level of professional decorum as well as the ability to act as a role model for young people.
Supervision Exercised: No direct supervision exercised.
Interface: Primarily interfaces with students, colleagues, administrators, and families. Required Qualifications:
Essential Job Functions:
Requires extended use of computers, sitting or standing for prolonged periods, and occasional lifting of materials under 10 lbs. The position requires mobility and manual dexterity necessary for operating equipment such as a computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment. Position requires the ability to write, hear and speak. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach and lift up to 10 pounds.

CALENDAR: 184 days (August - June) COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
- $26.25 - $31.55, depending upon approved accepted experience
- Longevity pay after completion of 6 years of employment
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon School Employees Association)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
- 8 paid holidays annually
- 10 paid sick leave days per year
- 2 paid personal leave days per year
- 5 paid bereavement leave days per year, per occurrence
- Up to $2193. per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical, dental and vision insurance
- $500. per month opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- 6% district-paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- $60. per month employer match into a tax sheltered annuity when employee contributes $35. per month
Reports to: Speech Language Pathologist and Principal Nature of Work: The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant works independently following standardized routines under close supervision. This job requires frequent interaction with students and as such requires a high level of professional decorum as well as the ability to act as a role model for young people.

Interface: Primarily interfaces with students, colleagues, administrators, and families. Required Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. (This provision may be waived by the school district.)
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions in English.
- Must possess an associate's degree or other certification from an accredited speech language pathology assistant program.
- Must possess an Oregon state speech-language pathology assistant certification.
- Must possess an Oregon state driver's license.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists Speech Language Pathologist with the assessment and treatment of students with speech and language challenges.
- Provides direct treatment to students in accordance with an established instructional plan and under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Assists in planning appropriate interventions for identified students and collecting data to assess their effectiveness.
- Documents student progress toward instructional plan objectives.
- Works with individuals or small groups of students to reinforce instruction from the Speech Language Pathologist.
- Conducts speech and language screenings, without interpretation, in accordance with specified protocols.
- Adapts instructional materials for teacher use in the classroom as determined by student needs.
- Performs various clerical tasks, including maintaining student records and reports, preparing instructional and classroom materials and maintaining speech and language equipment.
- Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with staff and students.
