Experienced Catastrophe Claims Representative

The current locations for which we are seeking CAT Claims Reps are located in the job posting.* Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated experienced Claims professional to join our team. The position requires the person to: Be available for frequent travel up to 21 days at a time. Travel is required upon short notice to location of catastrophe, which would most likely be out of state. Meet the physical demands required for the position including carrying and climbing a ladder. Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses. Be familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements, and forms. Work towards the resolution of claims, possibly attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary. Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner. Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience. Field claims experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail. Proficient with Xactimate software. Above-average communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to resolve complex issues. Organize and interpret data. Ability to handle multiple assignments. Ability to drive an automobile, possess a valid driver license, and maintain a driving record consistent with the Company's underwriting guidelines for coverage. This is required as this position regularly requires driving for on-site investigations and other business-related sites. Military experience is considered. For this position, the anticipated annualized starting base pay range is: $50,000.00 - $88,800.00. Other components of the compensation package include benefit dollars used to purchase certain benefits and several bonus opportunities.
