Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: In Patient Rehab/MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Strong communication skills, highly organized, teamwork, innovative problem-solving skills, compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, collaboration Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in In Patient Rehabilitation and Medical Surgical care. The unit accommodates adults and geriatrics with common diagnoses such as stroke, spinal cord injury, amputees, brain injury, critical illness, and neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 during the night shift. Nursing assistants or patient care technicians are present with a ratio of 1:10-15. RNs will care for patients and are not required to titrate drips. Common medications include antibiotics, anticoagulants, and antiplatelets. A charge nurse is available on each shift to support staff. Weekend requirements include working at least every third weekend. Holiday requirements involve working a minimum of two holidays. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. RNs may float to MedSurg as necessary. This role requires nurses to demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Candidates should possess innovative problem-solving abilities and contribute to a collaborative work environment. Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails for all staff involved in patient care. RTO (requested time off) must be provided upfront, and additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment. The charting system in use is EPIC.
