Police Officer

The Early Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.

Applications will be accepted at the Early City Hall. New hire officers will have a 12 month probation period with a salary increase at end of probation period. Applicants must meet the following standards:

• - TCOLE certified, (Preferred)
• - U.S. Citizen, at least 21 years of age
• - Has not been discharged from military service under less than honorable conditions.
  Complete DD-214 required.
• - High School Diploma or GED,
• - Have the ability to fluently read, write and speak the English Language,
• - Valid Texas Driver's License without restrictions other than eyeglasses
• - Not under felony indictment
• - Has never executed at any time a confession to a felony offense, such confession being admissible as evidence against the person in any criminal proceeding in any state or federal court
• - Has not been convicted of family violence. Family violence includes any act by a member of a family or household against another member of the family or household that is intended to result in physical harm, bodily injury, assault, or sexual assault or that is a threat that reasonably places the member in fear of imminent physical harm, bodily injury, assault, or sexual assault, but does not include defensive measures to protect oneself; or a member of the family or household toward a child of the family or household; whether Class A or C misdemeanors.
• - Has not been convicted or been on court ordered community supervision for any class B misdemeanor within the last ten (10) years.
• - Pass a thorough background investigation.
• - Pass a firearms qualifications
