Location: Mahwah, NJ
Salary: $75,000+ per year, based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time


Job Description


We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations at our Mahwah facility. This role is responsible for ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards.


The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to manage employees, improve productivity, and resolve production issues. Experience in printing or high-volume custom manufacturing is preferred, but candidates with a strong manufacturing background will also be considered. Bilingual candidates are a plus.


Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to meet schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery deadlines.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and monitor operations throughout the day.
• Review production priorities, staffing, materials, equipment availability, and capacity.
• Track planned versus actual production and develop recovery plans when production falls behind schedule.
• Manage staffing, attendance, overtime, labor utilization, employee productivity, and training.
• Lead, coach, and hold supervisors, team leads, and production employees accountable for performance.
• Monitor and improve production output, efficiency, equipment utilization, downtime, setup times, scrap, waste, and rework.
• Identify quality issues during production and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate recurring production problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Customer Service to resolve issues affecting production.
• Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and overall productivity.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
• Proven ability to lead and manage employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, labor management, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Experience improving productivity, quality, equipment performance, and waste reduction.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make decisions, address production challenges, and hold teams accountable.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Printing experience, including heat transfer or screen printing, is a plus.
• Experience in high-volume or custom manufacturing is preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
