Summary

Supports the accurate receipt, storage, control, and movement of inventory within the facility. This position combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities with administrative inventory control, including receiving transactions, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, material documentation, location maintenance, and ERP/system updates. Works closely with Scheduling, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and other operations personnel to maintain inventory accuracy, traceability, and timely material flow. May assist with audits and special projects as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Verify incoming material against purchase orders, packing slips, part numbers, quantities, and required documentation; identify and report shortages, overages, damage, or other discrepancies.
• Complete receiving transactions in the ERP inventory system accurately and timely, including quantities, receipt dates, storage locations, and other required information.
• Maintain receiving records and supporting documentation, including packing slips, receiving paperwork, material certifications, and other required records.
• Coordinate with Scheduling, Purchasing, Quality, Production, and other departments to resolve receiving discrepancies, material holds, documentation issues, and inventory variances.
• Maintain accurate inventory quantities and locations during all receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and other material movements.
• Perform scheduled cycle counts when needed, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits; document count results and research discrepancies after adjustments are processed.
• Assist with maintaining the cycle count schedule and tracking completion of assigned counts, recounts, variance research, and corrective actions.
• Research inventory variances by reviewing ERP transactions, work orders, receiving history, material movements, and storage locations; escalate unresolved issues as required.
• Support annual and periodic physical inventory activities, including count preparation, count documentation, recounts, reconciliation, and inventory cleanup.
• Maintain organized inventory locations, bin labels, part identification, and material traceability to support warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.
• Process material returns, transfers, and other inventory-related transactions and ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
• Generate precise pick tickets and execute material consumption transactions in the ERP system to ensure seamless production workflow.
• Report shortages, damaged material, nonconforming material, and inventory control concerns to the appropriate supervisor and Quality personnel.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material-handling devices in accordance with training and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and perform basic preventative checks on assigned material-handling equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills/Knowledge

• Working knowledge of warehouse, receiving, inventory control, and material-handling practices.
• Ability to perform accurate cycle counts.
• Experience using ERP or computerized inventory systems for receiving, material movement, and inventory transactions.
• Basic computer proficiency, including data entry, email, and spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel.
• Good organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, work orders, part numbers, and inventory documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy, traceability, safety, and housekeeping.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Experience in warehouse, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or related knowledge preferred.
• Previous experience performing cycle counts and inventory transactions in an ERP system preferred.
