Private Client Advisor

Location: 380 Route 3, Plattsburgh, New York Job Summary The Private Client Advisor’s focus is on our Mass Affluent client base with planning and financial wellness as the basis of their methodology. The Advisor will be the primary provider of investment services to KeyBank Mass Affluent clients, providing investment solutions to new and existing clients while identifying full relationship opportunities. They will establish strong partnerships with Retail Branch Managers, teams, and Centers of Influence, and maintain relationships with all partners. Responsibilities Responsible for growing new clients and expanding existing relationships with clients having more than $50,000 in investable assets. Target and execute a consistent sales process and financial plan for clients and prospects with investable assets between $250,000 and $2 million. Host holistic Financial Wellness conversations, complete comprehensive financial plans, and uncover full household and relationship growth opportunities—including both investment and banking related services—and refer accordingly. Utilize a consultative sales process and assessment tools, provide needs‑based financial solutions, partner with banking center staff, attain sales production and referral goals to the bank, develop a deep understanding of Key Investment Services solutions, support cross‑selling opportunities, learn core bank products, engage with branch personnel, coordinate investment product delivery, coach and mentor branch staff, manage client service delivery, and develop a Center of Influence strategy. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or equivalent experience (required) or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred). Licenses and Certifications FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) – upon hire (required) FINRA License S7 – upon hire (required) FINRA License S66 or S63 and 65 – upon hire (required) Certified Financial Planner (CFP) – preferred Resident State Insurance Licenses (Life, Variable, and Accident/Health or Life & Disability) – required Skills Broad knowledge of client and partner characteristics within the bank‑based investment market space. Demonstrated ability to sell products and services to investment clients; evidence of strong sales results. Strong client‑centric focus. Proven ability to work as a collaborative team member. Ability to use standard office equipment and proprietary financial services systems. Physical Demands General office work, prolonged sitting, face‑to‑face and phone communication, frequent PC/laptop use, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of bags up to 10 lbs. Travel Requirements Occasional travel, including overnight stays. Compensation and Benefits This position is eligible to earn a base salary rate of $62,400 annually, plus commission and deferred incentive compensation. Additional short‑term incentive compensation is also available on a performance‑based basis. The position is eligible for the full benefits package provided by KeyBank.
