Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients and assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications as ordered; provide patient and family education as appropriate.
- Document care in the medical record; participate in care planning and discharge planning as part of the care team.
- Respond to emergencies, maintain sterile technique, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure smooth transitions of care.

Requirements
- Ability to work in a labor and delivery setting with the nursing scope of practice in obstetric care.
- Demonstrated clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient safety focus.
- Comfortable supervising and coordinating nursing staff during night shifts and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as part of a travel nursing assignment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a new acute care environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation and communication skills to ensure accurate patient records.
