Job Description

Job Summary:
The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic computed tomography procedures in a busy Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Radiologist, the technologist ensures high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic CT scans on outpatients, inpatients, research subjects, and trauma patients in accordance with established protocols.
• Enforce radiation safety measures following state regulations to minimize exposure and ensure patient and staff safety.
• Support patient positioning, preparation, and care to promote a positive clinical experience.
• Assist in maintaining imaging equipment, ensuring all scans meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate accurate and timely diagnostic results.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Entry-level or limited experience in CT imaging preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and patient care protocols.
