Category Manager - Electrical Components

Trane Technologies is hiring a Category Manager – Tier 2 Electrical Components in Davidson, NC. The role focuses on managing the Tier 2 Supply within the Wire Harness Assembly Category, addressing procurement strategy, supplier management, and risk mitigation. Responsibilities Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality, etc.) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality. Partner with procurement teams to transition suppliers efficiently and support New Product Development through preferred supplier programs. Develop and execute detailed category strategy, expanding the Preferred Supplier Program and segmentation based on business needs. Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, conduct RFx activities, and negotiate supplier contracts to deliver best total value. Monitor and mitigate supplier risk (financial, capacity, quality, compliance). Drive category productivity through price, value analysis, and continuous improvement projects. Oversee Supplier Relationship Management activities and conduct regular supplier reviews to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience with large-scale, complex, and/or regional or global categories of spend. Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating, and managing vendors. Strong collaboration, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills; proven ability to act as a trusted business partner in a highly matrixed environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Compensation Annual base salary range: $75,700.00 – $135,834.99. Benefits Health insurance and holistic wellness programs starting on day one.
