Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting equipment for defects, such as wear, misalignment, and insufficient lubrication, and determining the best repair methods to minimize production interruptions. You will advise when immediate equipment shutdown is necessary to prevent damage and when temporary operation can continue without harmful effects.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment.

• Erect scaffolds, hoists, and chain falls as required.

• Make temporary or permanent repairs as needed.

• Assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts, and manage piping, valves, and fittings.

• Fabricate, install, replace, repair, and insulate piping, valves, and fittings.

• Fabricate, install, patch, insulate sheet metal ducts and chutes, adjust dampers, and install structural members of plate work.

• Operate simple machine tools such as drill presses, pipe threading machines, and power saws.

• Perform approved electric and gas welding.

• Troubleshoot issues with timers, relays, motor starters, and other electrical components.

• Babbitt and scrape bearings as required.

• Adjust equipment, dampers, valves, etc., for proper operating characteristics.

• Change, set up, and adjust a wide variety of equipment.

• Maintain records of adjustments, repairs, and spare parts used.

• Lay out and fabricate structural members, plates, pressure vessels, and miscellaneous equipment.

• Perform basic maintenance on mobile equipment as required.

• Perform all miscellaneous mechanical work required to maintain the plant.

• Ensure the job site is cleaned up after completion and usable materials, tools, and equipment are returned to proper storage.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, maintenance repair, and maintenance mechanics.

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clarksville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
