Executive Director, Senior Principal Architect (Enterprise Tech)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training and multiple professional-level certifications in AWS and Google Cloud, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
• More than 10 years of applied experience, including at least five years in a Senior, Lead, or Principal Architect role, leading large and complex architecture initiatives across stakeholders, products, geographies, solution types, regulated environments, and large-scale business transformations.
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Expertise in one or more programming languages, applications, and architecture disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading the safe use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in architecture workflows, including validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to assess and govern AI-enabled architecture patterns, including agentic workflows, with clear control boundaries, auditability, human approval checkpoints, and alignment with resiliency and security expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture.
• Experience applying expertise and new methods to solve complex architecture problems across technical disciplines.
• Extensive practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
• Ability to assess current and emerging technologies and recommend solutions and approaches for achieving future-state architecture.
• Preferred: Banking, financial services, or relevant technology-domain experience.
• Preferred: Experience with governance, risk, regulatory, and compliance frameworks.
• Preferred: Knowledge across multiple architecture domains, such as business, application or solution, technical or infrastructure, and information or data architecture.
• Preferred: Deep hands-on experience with hybrid, multi-cloud environments, including on-premises, AWS, and/or GCP or Azure.
• Preferred: Working fluency with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application to safety- and payment-adjacent workloads.
• Preferred: Proven ability to inspire teams toward shared goals.

• Advise on and lead strategy and development across a portfolio of products, applications, and technologies.
• Design, govern, and oversee robust, scalable, efficient architectural solutions to cross-domain business problems, encouraging adoption and reuse of preferred resources, processes, and technologies across domains and portfolios.
• Lead reuse-first adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis, option evaluation, and delivery of strategic global solutions, with human validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
• Explain complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to support innovation and informed decisions about target-state architecture.
• Liaise between Infrastructure Platform and Line of Business teams to maintain alignment and shared understanding.
• Drive adoption of technical methods in specialized fields, aligned with current product development methodologies, and create durable, reusable software frameworks that improve delivery speed and quality across teams and functions.
• Establish and lead an architecture governance body.
• Communicate effectively with group leadership, management, and teams across the company.
• Set portfolio-level guardrails for AI-assisted and agentic workflows in architecture and engineering governance, including traceability, auditability, and control expectations aligned with resiliency and security standards.
