SpEd Ed Tech III - Day Treatment Full-time With Benefits Fall 2026 Opening About the School Camden Hills Regional High School, a state‑of‑the‑art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves approximately 700 students in grades 9–12. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high‑quality, diverse staff. Position Summary The SpEd Ed Tech III position will work on a Special Education Team, in a self‑contained program named Rising Tide. Rising Tide is a therapeutic day treatment program for students in grades 9–12 who have been identified with academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs. The role may also work with individual or small groups of special education students to provide curriculum support, including the introduction of new learning that is pre‑planned in collaboration with the supervising teacher or appropriate content specialist. Rising Tide focuses on relationships, resilience, and empowerment in the school, outdoors, and community settings. This position works 8 am to 3:30 pm, inclusive of a 30‑minute unpaid lunch, and is for 190 days per year. Key Responsibilities Provide academic and behavioral support to students in grades 9–12 with identified special education needs, including those related to executive functioning, social emotional, and behavior. Assist in the delivery of instruction within a self‑contained program setting. Collaborate with supervising teachers and content specialists to implement pre‑planned lessons and instructional activities. Provide immediate support and guidance to students experiencing a behavioral crisis. Aid in maintaining accurate records of data, interventions, and student progress. Promote positive social interactions. Qualifications / Skills Understanding of behavioral interventions, trauma‑informed teaching, and special education practices. Effective communication and active listening. Organizational skills. Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and well‑being. Desire for ongoing professional development and improvement. Requirements Background check, including fingerprinting. Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III authorization preferred; Education Technician II required (would be paid at Ed Tech II rate). Special Education experience preferred. Pay and Benefits Pay is $25.06 – $27.58 per hour based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract. Health Insurance (including Vision). Dental Insurance (100% Employee paid). 15 Sick Days. 3 Personal Days. 9 Paid Holidays (10 if Juneteenth falls before the last scheduled teacher prep day). FSA.
