Moderate The facility is receiving a steady flow of submissions — a good time to get yours in Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift PCU/ED boarding unit position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience, prior travel assignments, and an active IN or compact RN license. Details ED boarding unit caring for stable patients ranging from MS to PCU/ICU level of care until discharge or transfer to an inpatient unit Acuity-adaptable unit with fluctuating patient ratios of 1:4-6 depending on acuity and patient type Team nursing model utilizing RN/LPN or RN/CNA staffing depending on acuity Float requirement to inpatient PCU units within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities Requirements Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required Cerner charting experience required Must have completed 3-4 previous travel nursing assignments Nursing degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 2 supervisor references required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide nursing care to boarded ED patients with MS, PCU, and ICU-level needs, coordinating with team nursing staff including LPNs and CNAs Comfortable with delegation and collaborative care in a team nursing environment Must work 2 of 3 major holidays RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; longer requests require facility approval Local (IN resident) candidates are not accepted for this position First-time travelers are not accepted for this role Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break period before becoming eligible again These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
