For more information about our people and platforms, visit us at Job Purpose: Cerberus Capital Management is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join our Tax team. You will perform tax compliance functions and gain exposure to a number of fund types, investment strategies and asset classes, including private equity, real estate, distressed investing, asset-backed securities and international investments. You will also bridge tax compliance processes with technology. Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal tax team and outside providers to prepare and review tax workpapers for foreign deal estimates, reporting and true ups (e.g. forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 926 and PFIC statements) Preparation and review of federal, state and local tax returns for partnerships and corporations Assist with the analysis and preparation of FIN48 supporting workpapers Assist with Foreign Bank Account Reporting (FBAR) filings Prepare tax allocations for hedge funds and private equity funds Performing taxable income analysis, including; sec.988, swap income/expense Implementation of tax technology, including Alteryx and Power BI, to drive process improvement The Cerberus tax team is a very technology focused group and candidates must have a willingness and interest in driving improvements and process changes with technology, including through the use of AI. Experience with FATCA/CRS governance, diligence and reporting is a plus Qualifications: 4-6 years of tax compliance experience with hedge funds and private equity Public accounting and in-house tax experience with an alternative investments firm a plus Also open to individuals at the Sr. Associate or Manager level in public accounting Big 4 experience is a plus Strong tax technical skills Ability to work collaboratively with a team Strong Excel/ tax technology skills, including Alteryx and Power BI Cerberus maintains a centralized data system; an ability to interface with the system and the data team, and ability to write reports will stand out The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $215,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion.
