Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospital Float (Syracuse)

Cedar Park Med is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – ED Float Pool for immediate openings. This opportunity is ideal for a CNA who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and able to provide compassionate, high-quality care across multiple units. HOSPITAL Experience is required . Level 1 trauma experience is preferred.

Schedule / Shift

Shifts can vary

Every other weekend required

13-week contract with possible extension

Position Overview

As a CNA in the ED Float Pool, you will provide direct and indirect patient care across multiple units in a dynamic acute care setting. This role includes supporting patients with daily care needs, obtaining vital signs, assisting with safety monitoring, and working closely with the healthcare team to deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient care. The ideal candidate is adaptable, dependable, and able to respond to changing patient needs with professionalism and strong communication.

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State CNA certification
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care patient experience
• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 trauma experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including bathing, toileting, feeding, and obtaining vital signs
• Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in compliance with healthcare standards
• Respond to changing patient needs while demonstrating knowledge of growth and development
• Support quality improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families
• Promote positive public relations and patient satisfaction
• Participate in ongoing professional development
• Make ethical decisions in all aspects of patient care
