ALBANY, NEW YORK (USA). Our organization is looking for a seventh board-certified pathologist in AP/CP with fellowship training in Hematopathology to enhance our growing Division of Hematopathology.

Clinical Responsibilities Include:

  • Sign-out of hematopathology cases (bone marrow, tissue, blood/CSF on a rotating schedule)
  • Participation in shared hematopathology on-call duties
  • A secondary area of expertise is preferred but not mandatory

Academic Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting one-on-one and group sign-outs with hematopathology fellows, residents, medical students, and visiting observers
  • Delivering didactic lectures, leading unknown slide conferences, and supervising residents’ presentations, including journal clubs, gross conferences, and grand rounds
  • Engagement in translational research opportunities, with encouragement and support for participation

The base salary range is aligned with experience and academic rank, ranging from $224,000 to $336,500.

Our organization is the sole regionally governed not-for-profit health system serving northeastern New York and western New England. It comprises several facilities, including a medical center, a medical college, a children's hospital, and various community hospitals.

The medical center is a 767-bed quaternary care academic facility that serves as the educational core of our health system. The Pathology department features 21 faculty members, an ACGME-accredited residency program, and an ACGME-accredited hematopathology fellowship program. Our clinical laboratory is equipped for fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and molecular diagnostics, supported by a well-equipped research laboratory for translational research initiatives.
