Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: CVICU\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring CVICU experience and ACLS/BLS certification.Details\n \n Cardiovascular ICU unit within a hospital setting\n 10-bed unit with a 2:1 patient ratio and total care support staffing model\n Uses Alaris IV pumps, GE bedside monitors, IABP, and Impella devices\n Documentation via Meditech EMR\n Unit performs open heart procedures and ECMO cannulation\n Night shift schedule, 7P-7A, 3 shifts per week with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule\n Floating required to Medical ICU and floor units\n Requirements\n \n Active KS or compact RN license required\n BLS and ACLS (or ALS) certification required\n NIH Stroke Certification required for CVICU\n Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU or relevant ICU experience required\n Experience with telemetry, pressors, positive inotropes, pacemakers, chest tubes, cath/EP lab recovery, and pericardial drains\n Skilled in frequent site and vital sign assessments\n Charge nurse experience for night shift preferred\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration\n One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide advanced cardiovascular ICU nursing care including monitoring and management of complex cardiac and post-surgical patients\n Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction with high expectations for quality and patient experience scores\n Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted\n First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751036.
