This position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with a rotating every-other-weekend requirement.The Housekeeper plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, guests, and team members. This position is responsible for performing daily housekeeping duties throughout the community while following all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.At Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant, we’re more than just a workplace. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.Come see the difference!What You’ll Do as an LVMG Housekeeper:Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas such as offices, lounges, elevators, and dining spaces.Empty trash, dust surfaces, vacuum carpets and hallways, mop floors, and sanitize frequently touched items (e.g., tables, chairs, ledges, thermostats, fire extinguishers).Clean specialized areas including bathing facilities, soiled utility rooms, isolation rooms, and discharge rooms.Assist with room turnover cleanings and prepare guest rooms, cottages, and community center areas as scheduled.Provide support to Independent Living and Residential Living housekeeping teams as needed, including weekend and relief coverage.Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other tools safely and effectively.Participate in all mandatory in-services and attend optional training sessions as directed by the Supervisor.Must follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned.All the great incentives you get as a LVMG Team Member!A strong total compensation package including:Competitive wagesHealth, dental and vision insurancePaid short- and long-term disability and life insuranceGenerous contributions to a 403(b)-retirement planPaid Time OffPaid professional developmentScholarship opportunitiesAn even stronger culture of caring, collaboration and support!What You’ll Need as a Housekeeper:Education | ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Prior experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members.Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required.Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively.Requires the ability to stand, walk, turn, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the day, often within confined areas.Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds using safe handling practices.Must demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.Equal Opportunity Employer StatementAt Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland (LSMMD), we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every individual is respected, supported, and valued.
