Physician Specialist Per Diem

Overview New Jersey's academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), is part of Rutgers University‑New Brunswick and collaborates university‑wide. RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers and institutes focused on cancer treatment, neuroscience, biotechnology, environmental health, and health policy. Position Summary Rutgers seeks a Physician Specialist Per Diem for the Department of Medicine – Global Tuberculous Institute within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). The Physician Specialist serves as a specialist and consultant, holds clinical responsibility for diagnostic and clinical sessions, and provides physician coverage at Rutgers’ Lattimore Clinic or satellite clinics. Directs activities of medical and other personnel delivering patient care. Serves on the faculty of NJMS Global TB Institute, Education and Training Department, conducting training sessions as required. Participates in research projects through patient medical management, interviews, and record review. Establishes appropriate relationships with health, welfare and social agencies of the jurisdiction of the unit or program. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Completion of a medical internship or equivalent. Demonstrated competence in hospital practice. Ability to assume clinical and administrative responsibility for a section of medical and treatment services. Recommendation by the Credentials Committee (or equivalent) and approval by the Central Office Board on Professional Standards. Certifications and Licenses New Jersey medical license from the State Board of Medical Examiners. Legally licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey. Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board in the appropriate specialty. Preferred Qualifications Spanish/English bilingual.
