Key Responsibilities of the RN – Medsurg:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions
Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Monitor for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Promote patient safety, comfort, and positive clinical outcomes throughout hospitalization
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Medsurg RN experience
Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN License
BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
Availability to work 12-hour night shifts
