Senior Automation Engineer, Laboratory Automation - Analytical Sciences

Senior Automation Engineer position within Analytical Sciences focused on developing and implementing automation solutions for cell-based, immunological, and genomic assays. The role combines hands-on engineering with project execution to improve assay robustness and workflow efficiency for engineered cell therapy products.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement automation solutions for cell-based and genomic assays
- Program, test, and maintain Hamilton VANTAGE and automated liquid-handling workstations
- Partner with scientists and engineers to translate manual processes into automated workflows
- Create SOPs, user guides, and technical reports; train laboratory personnel on systems
- Troubleshoot and continuously improve automated systems for reliable performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in bioengineering, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, or related field
- Advanced expertise with Hamilton liquid-handling platforms and VENUS software
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming language
- Experience with cell culture, immunological assays, and flow cytometry
- Knowledge of GMP requirements and regulated environment experience
- Experience developing integrated automation workflows using scheduling software
Compensation: $103,286.40–$154,929.60 base
