Pavement Markings Supervisor
Traffic Control & Engineering is responsible for administration, engineering and operations related to the installation, manufacturing, maintenance and removal of signs, flexible bollards, moveable barriers, in-house traffic sign production and other traffic control devices. The office draws on the expertise and talents of engineers, sign designers, planners, inspectors, IT experts, analysts and others to help the agency achieve Vision Zero and other city goals. Traffic Control & Engineering (TCE) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Pavement Markings Supervisor. The selected candidate will supervise Traffic Device Maintainers responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of pavement markings and other traffic control devices citywide. Responsibilities include overseeing Vision Zero projects; planning and scheduling work crews; coordinating activities with other units; managing the allocation of vehicles and equipment; and overseeing the maintenance and operational readiness of pavement marking equipment. Administrative duties include maintaining absence control calendars, evaluating staff, recommending process improvements, and attending meetings. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe work environments, ensuring compliance with all agency safety rules and regulations, and enforcing proper use of safety equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, the ability to manage daily operations effectively, meet milestones, and foster staff development while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. The candidate will be expected to lead collaboratively and inclusively, seeking to cultivate continued professional development, develop a strong team, and to effectively communicate through verbal and written forms with all stakeholders.
