Intern - Lab
$17.75 - $22 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a laboratory intern for its Microbiology and Molecular department in Tampa, Florida. The 11-week paid internship runs June-August 2027 and involves shadowing laboratory professionals, assisting with specimen processing, and participating in approved testing demonstrations and projects.
Responsibilities
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations
- Assist with specimen organization, inventory management, and laboratory workspace preparation
- Participate in supervised mock testing demonstrations and basic laboratory technique practice
- Support approved laboratory projects and research initiatives
- Adhere to all safety and compliance standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Bachelor's degree program
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following laboratory procedures
- Interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry
- Ability to work independently under general supervision with initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and appropriate workplace conduct
Compensation: $17.75-$22.00/hr
