Job Description Fuel is one of the most vital components of the Army National Guard. It keeps Soldiers pushing onward, and as a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you’ll ensure they never run out by properly handling, storing, and shipping petroleum-based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas. Petroleum Supply Specialists supervise the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products. Duties include operating pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft; selecting and submitting samples for testing; performing petroleum and water accounting activities; testing for contamination; repairing specialized equipment; and ensuring safety procedures and storage guidelines are followed. With experience, you can advance to supervising and training other Soldiers, assigning duties, spot checking work quality, and maintaining safety compliance.
