Technical Claims Manager

We are currently searching for an experienced claims professional or practicing defense attorney that has experience with NY Construction/Labor Law and Complex General Liability policies.


This individual can be located either in NYC or Syracuse but would be expected to go into the office 2 days a week.

Our client is an A+ rated E&S insurance carrier serving niche markets & shouldering the risks, so their clients have the security to create, explore, grow and prosper.

Highlights of this role:

• You will handle a very manageable caseload of high-severity/low frequency claims.
• You will work in an entrepreneurial environment and be expected to have an "Ownership Mentality" giving you a lot of authority to make business decisions as you see fit
• You will work with Underwriters to develop & shape the direction of the policy and discuss industry trends or case law that may impact their respective product lines
• You will work closely with Defense Counsel on developing appropriate litigation strategy and be very involved in deep and thorough claims investigations
• Claims Manager/Director will be responsible for conducting proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolutions
• Typical caseload is around 130 claims for this role

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4-8 years of experience handling complex NY Labor Law claims within Commercial Construction.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills allowing you to work effectively with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management
