Job Description
Title
ED Registered Nurse - Pediatric

Schedule
- Shift: Standard ED shifts; may be scheduled for a 7th shift if census increases (scheduled in advance)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes - every other weekend

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years ED nursing experience
- Pediatric ED experience required
- Active CA RN license at time of submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to patients spanning all age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Conduct triage and manage pediatric emergency care situations, including dysrhythmia interpretation and continuous IV sedation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory, and social services for comprehensive patient care.
- Manage stroke and STEMI protocols, ensuring timely and effective treatment interventions.
- Monitor and document patient conditions and treatment responses in the electronic medical record.

Compliance / Notes
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Maximum of 10 days of requested time off (RTO) per contract; none within the first 2 weeks; RTOs must be submitted at the time of submission
- Mandatory modules may involve up to approximately 2 hours of non-billable time to be completed pre-start and annually
