The goal of the Wound Nurse is to facilitate healing for present on admission wounds.Graduate of a professional school of nursing; BSN preferredCurrent licensure by Tennessee board of nursing or other compact board of nursingDemonstrated experience with each of the required areas of expertise in section IIIExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsCurrent BLS provider certificationGeneral Essential Functions:Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound policies and procedures (evidence based practice)Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound order sets (evidence based practice)Consults and develops plans of care (per nursing process and scope) for patients with ostomies and wounds (evidence based practice)Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients servedDemonstrates ability to perform technical skills and proceduresDocuments all required components of patient careFacilitates and supports ongoing ostomy and wound care education for staff membersCollects, analyzes and reports essential information related to wound prevalence, wound incidence and departmental operations to appropriate bodiesLeads and/or participates on performance improvement teamsActs as liaison between Centennial Medical Center and internal/external customersSupports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE valuesTriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 740+ bed comprehensive facility.
