Purpose:

A mammography clerical assistant provides administrative and patient-care support in a breast imaging department. 

Key duties include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records.

Core Responsibilities

Patient Reception: Greets patients, verifies demographics and insurance, and assists with paperwork or consent forms.

Scheduling & Coordination: Books screening and diagnostic appointments, coordinates follow-up exams, and contacts physician offices for missing orders.

Records Management: Maintains accurate filing systems, handles data entry in systems like RIS/PACS, and processes result letters.

Communication: Answers phone calls, routes inquiries to clinical staff, and tracks outside image arrivals.
