Minimum Qualifications
Must have a valid Louisiana Guidance Counselor Certification
Candidates must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate which includes certification in the area of employment as specified by Bulletin 746, Revised, Louisiana Department of Education.
For teaching positions, there may be additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Office of Juvenile Justice may determine to be appropriate.
50% of a teacher's evaluation will be based on professional practice (a qualitative measure) using the La. Components of Effective Teaching in conjunction with 50% on growth in student achievement.
Measures of student growth will be aligned with the Office of Juvenile Justice criteria in compliance with Bulletin 130 guidelines

Any college hours or degrees must be from a school accredited by one of the six regional accreditation organizations recognized by the US Dept. of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Job Specification
The primary responsibility of the Records Coordinator shall be counseling students and providing those services directly related to school counseling.
The Records Coordinator shall be responsible for the effective management of the school counseling department to which he/she is assigned.
The school counseling program shall be conducted in accordance with policies adopted by the Board of Education and with regulations and procedures of the district.
Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Provide individual academic counseling and support students with graduation planning, course selection, and enrollment accuracy.
Coordinate district and statewide testin g and assist with implementing school rules, policies, and outside-classroom duties.
Maintain accurate records, complete reports on time, and participate in SBLC, IEP, and professional development activities.
Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community partners while upholding professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
Support school programs, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and maintain positive working relationships across the school community.
Perform assigned duties dependably, follow attendance and conduct expectations, and assist with additional responsibilities as directed by administration.
Move throughout the school site as needed for monitoring and instructional support; occasionally lift 10–15 lbs and maintain a professional appearance.
