Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Northern California coastal region

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30), 26-week assignment. Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract period.

Highlights:

• 26-week travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk obstetric patients
• Work with a culturally diverse patient population in a facility performing over 300 births per month
• Opportunity to circulate on cesarean sections and provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care
• Unit features 11 rooms with 15 beds and average daily census of 15-20 patients
• 40 hours of orientation provided with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• First-time travelers accepted for this position

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:3
• Proficiency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, postpartum care, and newborn assessment
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, magnesium sulfate therapy, and pregnancy-induced hypertension preferred
• Postpartum experience strongly preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Willingness to float to meet facility needs within scope of practice
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius or accept adjusted compensation
