Maintenance Technician for Parish (NE)

St. Ignatius Hickory Parish seeks candidates for a Maintenance Technician . Under general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician will provide cleaning and maintenance for the parish buildings and grounds. This is a part-time, benefit eligible position working 20 weekly hours. Essential Functions Assures the church and parish center are maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Accomplish this by dusting, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms. Assures the grounds are maintained in an orderly and safe manner. Accomplish this by mowing, string trimming, weeding, pruning, and using a leaf blower on walkways, etc. May have to dig burial spot for cremation graves. Provide general assistance as needed by setting up chairs and tables, hauling and moving items as requested from work orders, etc. Change marque and other signs according to scheduled events. Assures the collection and disposal of trash and garbage from the buildings and rectories. In case of snow, Maintenance staff as essential personnel, expected to be on duty to clear sidewalks and assist in snow removal, etc. Other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than 3 current points. Some experience within the identified primary field. Practicing Catholic preferred. Must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to and more than 100 lbs. with assistance; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed.
