Salary: $17/hr

Express Employment Professionals has an immediate opening with a local agricultural company for a Weigh Technician / Harvest Scale Clerk . This seasonal position plays a critical role in grain receiving and shipping operations by accurately weighing trucks, grading grain, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards during the busy harvest season.

Starting at $17.00 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate truck scale systems to accurately weigh inbound and outbound grain loads.
• Generate scale tickets, receipts, and shipping/receiving documentation.
• Collect grain samples from incoming loads and assist with grain grading activities.
• Evaluate grain quality, including moisture, dockage, foreign material, and damage.
• Learn and perform inspections of crop loads according to company standards.
• Maintain accurate records through data entry and computerized scale systems.
• Answer phones, assist customers, and provide professional communication with farmers, truck drivers, and management.
• File documents and maintain organized records.
• Perform routine housekeeping and cleaning of work areas, including grain dust and debris removal.
• Follow all company safety procedures and regulations.
• Assist with other harvest operations and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Working knowledge of weights and measures pertaining to Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) units is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety practices around commercial trucks and heavy equipment.
• Ability to think quickly and accurately calculate figures as they relate to weights, measurements, and applicable regulations.
• Basic computer proficiency required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Previous data entry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience operating standard office equipment, including copiers, scanners, fax machines, and multi-function printers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and changing weather conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule Requirements

• Must be available to work extended hours during peak harvest seasons.
• Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
• 7am-3pm & 3pm-11pm
