Employment Coach

Description Employment Coach Pay: $16 per hour based on experience. Join Emory Valley Center as an Employment Coach and play a vital role in empowering individuals receiving services to lead self-directed, fulfilling lives as active members of their communities. In this rewarding position, you will provide personalized support, coaching, and training to help people pursue meaningful employment opportunities, aligning services with their personal goals and the Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP). Your efforts will promote independence by identifying natural supports and enabling technologies, with the goal of reducing paid support where appropriate, all while ensuring services are delivered with fidelity and compliance. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support, coaching, and training to individuals seeking employment, tailored to their goals and preferences.
• Assist people in developing skills necessary for employment success and community integration.
• Identify and leverage natural supports and assistive technologies to promote independence.
• Monitor and ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, fidelity standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with people supported, families, and team members to develop and update Person-Centered Support Plans.
• Promote a positive, empowering environment that encourages self-advocacy and community engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold the mission and values of Emory Valley Center.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or experience in supported employment or community integration preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and empower individuals.
• Knowledge of person-centered planning, supported employment strategies, and assistive technology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma (or equivalent). Six months’ experience in a field or closely related field. Enabling Technology Integration Specialist (ETIS) preferred. Obtain and maintain Training Resource Network Certification (TRN) Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license with a good driving record. Duties may require occasional after-hours work and travel to organizational sites. Required training/certifications provided by the organization including CPR/First Aid.

Technology Proficiency: Utilizes enabling technology and electronic documentation systems confidently to support service delivery and communication. Reliability and Initiative: Demonstrates dependability in attendance and performance; takes initiative to support individuals beyond minimum requirements. Commitment to Inclusion: Actively supports opportunities for individuals to work, live, and participate meaningfully in the community. REPORTING STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: This position reports directly to the Community Manager and may also receive guidance from the Vocational Development Manager or Workforce Innovation Director. Employment Coaches are responsible for implementing supports and services as directed by supervisory staff and outlined in the Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSP), therapy plans, and behavior support strategies. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, Vocational Development Manager, and Innovation Program staff. Maintains active communication with people receiving services, their Circle of Support (COS), employers, and agency staff to ensure effective service delivery and alignment with the Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP). Employment Coaches participate in team meetings and provide feedback to support ongoing quality improvement, safety, and person-centered planning. Employment Coaches are expected to maintain professional boundaries, follow the chain of command, and seek supervisory input when challenges or emergencies arise. Responsible for completing all assigned tasks with accuracy and timeliness in accordance with Emory Valley Center policies, Vocational Rehabilitation expectations, and regulatory requirements. Expected to model appropriate work and community behavior, professional dress, and respectful communication in all employment settings and community interactions.
