Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Hospital-Based Inpatient & Outpatient Position Type: Full-Time Setting: Hospital-Based (Inpatient & Outpatient Rehabilitation) Compensation: $50,000–$85,000 annually (DOE) New Graduates Welcome to Apply The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in inpatient (post-surgical, medical-surgical, step-down units) and outpatient rehabilitation clinics. Key Responsibilities Carry out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide care in both inpatient settings (including post-surgical, medical-surgical, and step-down units) and outpatient rehabilitation clinics. Assist patients with therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, mobility activities, transfer training, and use of assistive devices. Observe, document, and report patient responses, progress, and tolerance to treatments. Communicate any changes in patient condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, Medicare). Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated patient care. Ensure safe and effective treatment environments for all patients. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to follow clinical direction and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Familiarity with hospital-based documentation systems and EMR platforms.
