Franklin, IN, US – 24 days ago – Requisition ID: 2187 Job Responsibilities Perform specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture or skin puncture, following laboratory protocols for specimen handling, containers, transport, and patient preparation. Verify information regarding requested tests and patient identification according to laboratory protocol. Assist with routine clerical work: charging, crediting, and canceling of test procedures via computer system in a timely manner; registration and order entry for all patient phlebotomy specimens received in the laboratory. Process requisitions for disposition of reports to lab files, physician offices, home health agencies, and other appropriate locations. Provide accurate and timely information to meet the department’s customer needs. Receive information for the laboratory department by answering phones and responding to front‑desk needs; relay calls to various laboratory sections and/or management. Work with the Johnson Memorial Health computer system(s), printers, scanners, etc., for orders/requisitions from multiple referral sources; coordinate orders according to the time requested and location, following all laboratory procedures. Provide guidance for customers regarding laboratory procedures and operations; troubleshoot and provide timely customer service, notifying the supervisor of service issues. Promote positive relations with co‑workers by using positive communication methods and striving to improve the image of JMH, demonstrating a commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement. Offer technical guidance for employees and customers regarding laboratory procedures and operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions. Education, Experience and Training High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework in phlebotomy preferred. Minimum of one year of experience preferred. Experience with office equipment and medical terminology preferred. Schedule Monday‑Friday, 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.; 80 hours per bi‑weekly pay period.
