Forklift Operator / Clamp Truck Operator – Manufacturing

Location: Doswell, VA
Pay: $19/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Training: 1st Shift (will transition to 3rd Shift)

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Forklift Operator / Clamp Truck Operator to join our manufacturing team in Doswell, VA. This position plays a key role in supporting production operations by safely moving materials, staging rolls for production, and assisting with machine operations and packaging.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV) such as forklifts or clamp trucks and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment .

Responsibilities

• Operate a clamp truck, sit-down forklift, and other powered industrial vehicles (PIV) safely and efficiently

• Stage rolls for production according to the posted schedule to support rewinder operations

• Cut and prepare cores for scheduled orders, ensuring accuracy with notches and core plugs when required

• Package finished materials from rewinders according to specifications, including required labeling or stenciling

• Weigh finished goods, tag them properly, and place them in the correct warehouse location

• Maintain organization and inventory of rolls awaiting rewinding

• Transport materials between buildings and production areas as needed

• Inspect finished goods for damage or defects before shipment

• Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and production records

• Assist with staging materials for the next shift to ensure continuous production

• Maintain housekeeping and organization in production and warehouse areas

• Learn the operation of rewinder equipment to provide backup support when needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a forklift or clamp truck in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

• Experience working with production equipment or machine operations is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions

• Basic math and measuring skills

• Ability to read work orders, schedules, and production documentation

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
