Mechanical Engineer IV

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing structural and thermomechanical models to support product design and performance.


Rate Range: $85/hour to $95/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Mechanical Engineer IV Job Responsibilities include:

• Perform non-linear static and dynamic FEA simulations using Abaqus (preferred), Ansys, or similar CAE tools.
• Develop and analyze structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer models to evaluate product performance and reliability.
• Validate simulation results through physical testing, including model calibration, verification, and correlation activities.
• Model a wide range of materials, including polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials, to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and management to provide simulation-driven design recommendations.
• Support product development by identifying potential failure modes and driving design optimizations through advanced CAE analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience, preferably within a high-volume consumer electronics environment.
• Strong expertise in non-linear static and dynamic simulations using Abaqus, with experience in structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer analysis.
• Proven experience developing, calibrating, and validating FEA models through physical testing, with proficiency in material modeling for polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials.

Pay Details: $85.00 to $95.00 per hour
