Salary around $120k depending on experience Retirement with 5% match CE Allowance with additional PTO Relocation/ Student Loan Assistance Considered Liability Insurance Introduction Our client is a privately owned small animal veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team. The practice primarily treats dogs and cats, alongside a limited number of rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pocket pets, and is happy to support a veterinarian looking to bring additional clinical interests to the hospital. The practice has been established for 34 years by its current owner and offers the potential for future ownership, although an interest in ownership is not required. Full-time is preferred, but part-time candidates will also be considered. Role Description and Responsibilities The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive general practice care across preventative medicine, internal medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, reproductive services, and client education. Surgical services include routine spays and neuters alongside entropion repair, cystotomy, foreign body removal, mass removal, exploratory surgery, amputations, and C-sections. Dental procedures include ultrasonic scaling, dental radiography, and extractions, while reproductive services include breeding timing, semen collection, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, puppy counts, birthing assistance, and associated testing. Doctors typically perform surgeries and dental procedures in the morning when scheduled, alongside morning drop-off cases, followed by appointments in the afternoon. Standard examinations and vaccination appointments are typically 30 minutes, with additional time provided for sick or multiple-patient appointments, while technicians manage appointments including boosters and allergy injections. Full-time doctors work four 10-hour weekdays with rotating half-day Saturdays; during weeks when a doctor works Saturday, they work three and a half days during the week. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates will be considered. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with the practice closed on Sundays. The recently remodeled 2,000-square-foot facility includes dedicated dental and surgical suites, outdoor fenced areas, dental and digital radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, in-house laboratory equipment, gas anesthesia, electronic medical records, and surgical monitoring including EKG, respiratory, and blood oxygen monitoring. Services include preventative and senior care, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, reproductive services, ultrasound, digital radiology, laser therapy, fecal and heartworm testing, vaccinations, nutrition, therapeutic care, and pet boarding. The practice emphasizes personalized, client-focused care rather than a standardized approach to medicine and is located in a small-town setting close to a larger metropolitan area. Team The hospital has two DVMs supported by four technicians and assistants, four receptionists, three daycare providers, and five kennel attendants.
