Slate Hill Surgery Center, part of the Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania (OIP), is looking for a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our clinical team. As a Patient Care Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting patients throughout their surgical experience—from preparation and admission through recovery and discharge. You'll work closely with RNs, physicians, and other clinical team members to provide safe, compassionate care while helping create a positive and memorable experience for every patient. Requirements What You'll Do As a Patient Care Technician at Slate Hill Surgery Center, you will: Provide compassionate, patient-centered care before and after surgical procedures Assist patients with activities of daily living and comfort needs Obtain and accurately document vital signs, height, weight, and other patient information Prepare patient bays and procedure rooms Assist RNs with patient admission, recovery, and discharge Safely transport patients throughout the surgery center Respond promptly and professionally to patient needs and concerns Clean and disinfect patient care areas and equipment according to infection prevention standards Stock clinical supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels Assist with specimen transport and documentation Perform point-of-care testing as assigned Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the surgery center Participate in emergency response activities as directed Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements Support the nursing team and other clinical staff as needed Perform other duties as assigned What You'll Learn Working at Slate Hill Surgery Center provides valuable hands-on experience in: Perioperative patient care Surgical patient preparation and recovery Patient safety and infection prevention Vital signs and clinical documentation Patient transport and safe patient handling Ambulatory surgery center workflow Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals Patient communication and customer service Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Current BLS certification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong patient-care and customer-service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism Ability to safely lift and move patients and equipment as required Preferred (Not Required) One year of experience in an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or healthcare setting Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience Patient Care Technician experience Medical Assistant experience EMT or other clinical healthcare experience Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) Why Join Slate Hill Surgery Center?
